drops slow as snow flakes

cardboard sign leans against a post:

Crickets turning the trees into bells in the darkness.

a flute starts up behind me —
time to go

garden down the street —
rose too small for my camera

going through the house opening windows —
one still locked from winter

clouds again —
even the birds are quiet

bring down the sun on the ivy
whose face is the wall
